Join us for the 5th Annual Juneteenth Parade & Festival, hosted by the Cherry Hill African American Civic Association in partnership with Cherry Hill Township and the Cherry Hill Police Department. This vibrant celebration commemorates June 19, 1865—the day enslaved Americans received word of their freedom in Galveston, Texas, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Juneteenth is the oldest continuous celebration of the end of slavery in the United States, and its significance has grown nationwide and internationally. In New Jersey, Juneteenth is officially recognized as a state and public holiday, thanks to Governor Murphy’s legislation.
This year’s event promises an exciting day filled with live music, performances, vendors, food trucks, family-friendly activities, including a petting zoo. Bring your family and friends to honor this historic occasion and celebrate African Americans’ vibrant culture and history.
Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate freedom, unity, and community at one of Cherry Hill’s most cherished events. We look forward to seeing you there!
